Description: This session is designed for healthcare researchers who want to know more about using AI tools in a productive and ethical way in their research. Attendees will learn how AI works, what AI tools are available, and how AI tools can–and cannot be–used in a research capacity as they navigate the boundaries of AI’s ethical and technical limitations.
 

Learning objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define what AI is, including a basic understanding of large language models and how they are trained.
  • Identify what AI tools are designed to do and what their limitations are.
  • Distinguish situations where AI may or may not be useful.
  • Explain the difference between types of AI tools and how they can be applied.
